BUDAPEST & MADRID (EU) - An enthusiastic team of about 60 students from the Technical University of Budapest is currently busy with the construction of the so-called 'ODOO house', a perversion of the Hungarian word Odú, which means hut or shelter. With this contemporary interpretation of a Hungarian country house around an oblong courtyard, designed by Adrián Auth and Balázs Szelecsényi, Odooproject was selected to take part in the second round of the Solar Decathlon Europe 2012 competition. The house will have a facade of black solar cells and is being constructed in two locations in Hungary. In late August it will be transported in sections by truck to Madrid. There it will be open to the visiting public, together with twenty other solar houses created by various universities, from 14 to 30 September 2012.
