COPENHAGEN (DK) - Each year the renowned Danish Nykredit Foundation awards three different architecture prizes. One of these prizes, the Nykredit Motivation Prize of over 13,000 euros, goes this year to Powerhouse Company, founded in 2005 by architects Nanne de Ru and Charles Bessard, and with offices in Rotterdam and Copenhagen, respectively. At the end of May 2012, the Danish Minister of Culture, Uffe Elbaek, awarded the prizes at a ceremony at the headquarters of Nykredit in Copenhagen. The Nykredit Architecture Prize 2012 went to the Danish architecture bureau COBE. The Special Merit Prize was won by architect Kent Martin Marcussen.
