BELGRADE (RS) - This spring, when nature is awakening, Belgrade celebrates not only itself as a city, due to various historic anniversaries, but also transforms into a cultural metropolis of music, dance and art, where one festival closely follows on the heels of another. The focus of the main events in May and June is design and architecture.
BINA 2011 takes place from 5 to 15 May, and the theme this year is sustainable vs. unsustainable. BINA features numerous exhibitions, lectures, round tables, film showings, workshops, tailored for children and students, as well as guided city tours. Its aim is to inspire dialogue between the profession, the institutions and the general public, as well as to sharpen everyone's awareness of the built environment. Programme highlights include the exhibitions of Bogdan Bogdanović, Balkanology, and the conference Rethinking Socialism: Twenty Years Later. Some exhibitions and accompanying events will last until 19 June.
