FinlandTarja Nurmi is an architect with the Finnish Association of Architects (SAFA). She studied at the University of Technology in Helsinki. She has worked in many architecture offices but started to work more as an architecture mediator and writer in the late 1990s. She has done work for television, acted as curator and jury member and collaborated, for instance, with the SAFA publications Arkkitehti and Arkkitehtiuutiset, and currently also with A10. She was for many years the architecture writer for the leading business daily in Finland, and has collaborated with ProjectBaltia magazine, which she co-founded. She writes for a new cultural magazine, Taide&Design, and other domestic and foreign publications as well. She was given the honour of the membership of the Order of the Finnish Lion by the president of the Republic in 2010, and received the SAFA Mark of Distinction in 2005.
