Kitchen clubbing

STUTTGART (DE) - As private parties tend to begin and end in the kitchen, why not make the kitchen a private club? This idea was the starting point for and off architecture's design for 'die blaue caro' (the blue diamond) kitchen club.

They took the key feature of the existing kitchen – the blue tiles on the floor – and extended it throughout the space, adjusting it to the club's infrastructure: sound system, chandelier, fruit bowls, logo and a decorative deer’s head. Some of the white tiles in-between the blue were extruded as ceiling lamps. The pattern is by no means fixed; users are invited to provide new input and different configurations, to change the club to match different events. Is tiling set to become part of clubbing?
