SÄYNÄTSALO (FI) - The legendary Säynätsalo Town Hall by Alvar Aalto contains two guest rooms named after Alvar and his wife Elissa Mäkiniemi, who often stayed here. The rooms, which measure only seven and ten metres square, respectively, share a bathroom with shower. They both overlook the small courtyard. Included in the price are sheets, kitchenware, fridges and the possibility to cook and to prepare coffee. The ambience is genuine and takes one back to the 1950s. There is also a regular bus connection to Jyväskylä, where there is more Aalto architecture to visit. The Säynätsalo Town Hall was renovated in 1998.
