Presiding over Lake Sempach, the clubhouse is a cross between a barn and a Maserati, according to the architect. It houses two restaurants and two reception halls for visitors to Switzerland's largest golf course. Strong colours define the rooms. It is no accident that the clubhouse's external shape resembles Erich Mendelsohn's hat factory in Luckenwalde, near Berlin (1921–1923).

The Tamina Therme spa pays homage to classic monumentality, starting with the entrance, which references a Greek temple porch as if this were the most natural thing in the world. Other influences include Biedermeier and the white wood architecture typical of the old Baltic Sea resorts. Smolenicky's neo-classicism is abstract, not least because the painted wood no longer feels like wood, thus making the whole building seem aloof and detached.
